Our Story
We are an English-speaking Christian school aspiring to the highest international standards academically, in technical and commercial education, as well as in our sporting and cultural endeavours. In addition we uphold the best traditions of Zimbabwe’s independent schooling, promoting a respect for others and accountable governance.
Lomagundi College opened on 14th February 1983 and occupies 120 ha of land amidst the low-lying hills of the Hunyani Range, 8km west of Chinhoyi.
Our beautiful school is an easy one and a half hour drive out of Harare, and is centrally located within the province of Mashonaland West. We are well known for providing a safe and caring environment. We are proud of the co-educational opportunities we provide, offering parents a healthy, well-protected environment for both boys and girls.
Academic excellence is a focus at Lomagundi College, and we are blessed with a stable staff of excellent teachers. We allow flexibility in subject choice and two or three year programmes to IGCSE.
Lomagundi College leads the field in academic support for those with learning difficulties. We take the time and effort to teach each student in the most effective way, so that non-achievers become confident achievers. We are justifiably proud of our extra-curricular programmes, particularly Adventure Challenge, Mountain Biking and the Equestrian Centre.
We offer boarding and day-scholar options; day scholars are encouraged to participate in all activities, spending the whole day at school. A well qualified medical team is on call 24/7 in our fully equipped Sick Bay. Each House has a Superintendent/House Father or Mother in residence and caring staff do daily duties.
