Cultural Programme at Lomagundi College
Lomagundi College’s cultural life is thriving – there are not enough hours in the day, nor enough days in the week to provide for every wish! We would love to be able to provide more outlets for self-expression.
There are many opportunities for speaking – formal speeches, spoken word, debating, poetry and prose recitation, Toastmasters, both internally and in festivals such as those hosted by the National Institute of Allied Arts.
Other performance opportunities occur in our regular concerts and variety shows, for musicians, singers, dancers, comedians, etc, who also enter Allied Arts. We have successfully hosted ATS Inter-Schools contests in Debating and Public Speaking, not to mention Music under the Stars events and our Jazz Band to entertain the community at large.
There are games to play: Chess and Scrabble, and Quizzes. The activity clubs are Adventure Challenge, Karate and Environmental Management.
Those with artistic and creative talents have the Art, Drama, Photography, CAD, Design and Technology, Metalwork, Woodwork and Robotics Clubs to choose from. There is an annual school play to audition for.
The service clubs include First Aid, Backstage and Computer Hardware Servicing. The Sixth Form portfolios offer our seniors ample scope to serve: Fundraising and Service cater to the needy in our community; Cultural, Functions and Entertainment ensure that the school activities are well organised; Hospitality and Spirit build our school culture from the inside so that we can project our ‘Proudly Gundi’ spirit to all who visit us.
